Exploring Lake Tahoe

Lake tahoe is one of the most beautiful lakes I have been to in the United States. It is a large freshwater lake located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. The best time to visit lake tahoe depends on your interests. If you like hiking, boating, chilling by the beach the best time to visit is during the summers. If you like skiing, snowboarding, waking up to snowy views then definitely the winter. I had gone to lake tahoe for a weekend trip with a couple of friends. Its one of those places where you wish you had more time on your plate. Nevertheless 2 days spent at Lake Tahoe were absolutely blissful and relaxing.

On our first day we decided to go for a short 1.5 mile hike to one of the most popular viewpoints of South Lake Tahoe called the Cascade Falls trail. This is a great short, moderate/easy hike to a beautiful waterfall within Emerald Lake State Park.

The view point is beautiful where you can see the cascade falls, the cascade lake along with Lake Tahoe surrounding it. The best time to visit this trail would be from May-September as it is closed during the winters.

On our second day we decided to explore the northern part of Lake Tahoe which is located in Nevada state. The northern is part is more relaxing and known for its deep blue clear waters, so we decided to kayak in this region.

Sand Harbour beach and Kings beach are one of the most popular locations for kayaking or any other water activities. Kayaking in Lake Tahoe was surreal with clear waters and beautiful views all around.

Next we went for a hike at the 3.1 mile Tahoe Rim trail to the pick rock view point. It has moderate elevation but the end view point is definitely worth the hike.

Other viewpoints we stopped over were the inspiration point in Emerald bay state park in South Lake Tahoe and secret cove located in North Lake Tahoe.

This trip guideline to see most of the Lake Tahoe in 2 days is based off my experience. If you have any specific questions, please comment below and I will try to help.
